Trucks and tools create a buzz at Interbuild

Stanley, Bosch, Irwin and Bahco, to name just a few, were drawing in the crowds with a range of new product innovations and interactive demonstrations.

Interbuild - the UK's largest building exhibition - cranked up the excitement on day three of the show with a raft of new product launches in the ever-popular 'Truck and Tools' hall.

Bahco was making a splash by showcasing its first ever complete plumbing range with ten entirely new products including the EGRO 600 series tube bender, quick adjust slip joint plier and an automatic tube cutter.

Over at Stanley, the FatMax XL hand tools were proving a big hit with all areas of the trade, particularly the 4-in-1 demolition tool - FuBar.

Making easy work of pulling nails, bending boards and demolishing almost anything in its path, the FuBar is creating a real buzz.

Another ever-present big brand at Interbuild, Bosch, had visitors in raptures with demonstrations of its new GSB 18 VE-2LI Professional Turbo combi.

Passing the 'smoking gun' test with flying colours, the drill boasts technology which automatically prevents expensive motor burn outs.

Irwin also cut a swathe through the tool-bursting arena with its Universal 880 Triple Ground saw.

Featuring a unique triple ground tooth design, the saw is 25% faster than the double ground version.

With 50 products given away every day to the first visitors on stand, the queues may already be forming outside the NEC.

The van's the star.

Visitors were also putting their hands on some new commercial vehicles on display including new models from Renault and Volkswagen.

Renault's Trafic Double Deck Tipper is making its debut at the show and will be available from November.

The 2.9 tonne load carrier comes with a storage draw and can hold 200kg of tools.

The French manufacturer also took the opportunity to showcase its New Kangoo model, which will also be available this year.

The compact van benefits from low emissions and produces less than 140g/km making it one of the class leading performers.

Completing a star-studded line-up, Volkswagen chose Interbuild to debut its Caddy Maxi Sportline panel van.

This vehicle and the addition of the smaller Caddy Sportline - designed for builders and contractors - expands the model range to five.

Interbuild's Head of Marketing, Sam Matthews, says: "Interbuild continues to be the industry's number one exhibition platform for showcasing new products - large and small".

"For manufacturers, there really is no substitute for doing real, live business with a captive trade audience.".
